Sheet-metal prototypes and small series

From flat sheet to a factory-grade part — crisp bends, embossings and threads formed straight into the plate on a fully digital TRUMPF line, validated against the bend sequence before any material is cut.

What we make

  • Prototypes and one-off parts
  • Small series that repeat from batch to batch
  • Enclosures, housings and covers
  • Frames, perforated tables and structural panels
  • Welded and assembled sheet-metal sub-assemblies

A fully digital TRUMPF line

Punching, forming and bending are software-paired, so a part is checked against its bend sequence before the first sheet is committed.

TRUMPF TruMatic 1000

Punches, forms and pre-taps threads directly into raw stock — threads in the plate can replace separate fasteners.

TRUMPF TruBend 5170

170 tonnes of force, ACB Laser angle measurement so the first part is already in tolerance, a six-axis backgauge and camera-assisted blank positioning.

TRUMPF ToolMaster

Builds the complete upper- and lower-beam tool set in minutes, automatically — which makes one-off and small-series bends economical.

TruTops Boost

Programming and unfolding, with geometry tested against the downstream bend sequence before any material is cut.

Design tips that save a revision

  • As a starting point, keep the inside bend radius at least equal to the sheet thickness.
  • Keep holes and cut-outs a few material thicknesses away from bend lines to avoid distortion.
  • Use one bend radius throughout the part where you can — fewer tool changes, more consistent parts.
  • Very short flanges are hard to bend reliably; ask us early if your design needs one.

From data to finished part

  1. 01

    Send your data

A 3D model or drawing, material, thickness and quantity.

  2. 02

    Manufacturability check

We unfold the part and test it against the bend sequence before any material is cut.

  3. 03

    Punch, form, bend

On the TruMatic 1000 and the TruBend 5170 with automatic tool setup.

  4. 04

    Weld, machine, assemble

If the part belongs to an assembly, it continues to our laser-welding cell and the Mazak — under the same roof.

What we need for an offer

  • 3D model (STEP) or a dimensioned drawing
  • Material and sheet thickness
  • Quantity — one piece or a small series
  • Threads, inserts and surface requirements
  • What the part connects to, if it belongs to an assembly

Frequently asked questions

Do you make single prototypes?

Yes. From one piece — automatic tool setup on the press brake makes a single part economical.

Can threads be formed in the sheet?

Yes. The TruMatic 1000 forms threads directly in the plate, which can replace separate fasteners.

Do you also weld and assemble?

Yes. Robotic laser welding, nine-axis machining and SLS parts are all in-house, so a sheet-metal part can leave as a finished assembly.

What about simple flat or bent parts?

For simple parts with an instant online price, use our sister project sheetparts.com. We take the complex parts and assemblies.

Send us your drawing or model.

Tell us the material, thickness and quantity — one piece is fine.
